In Anafim v’Alonim (Branches for 4th Grade and Oak Trees for 5th Grade), we are bursting with so many ideas and interpretations about Yosef! We are exploring the text alongside building our skills around sequential storytelling. We began by focusing on font choices and how we are using the words to convey our ideas. Then, we paired text with a single illustration, paying attention to how we are ‘pointing the camera.’
Below are two ways children are using this language to express their ideas. In the first, the child drew the words and made choices about the lettering and font choice to evoke the optimism of the first dream. In the second, the child used the shape and arrangement of different panels to show how multiple moments from the text give content to a particular phrase.
