This week, we’ve been celebrating Tu B’Shvat – the Jewish New Year of the Trees!
In Anafim V’Alonim (“Branches” for 4th Grade, “Oak Trees” for 5th Grade), we have been sharing fun facts about trees and the environment, making crafts together, and exploring different Tu B’Shvat rituals.

At the end of the session, we had a celebration with our whole community! Below children are mixing four cups of grape juice: red, white, mostly red, and mostly white. Children discussed what the different colors might represent. Some ideas were: seasons, elements, directions, and different kinds of fruit.

We love showing each other what we know, sharing techniques, and celebrating the holidays together!
