תְּשׁוּבָה (Teshuvah) Project Time

It’s project time in Anafim V’Alonim (“Branches” for 4th Grade and “Oak Trees” for 5th Grade)!

We’re developing our big ideas about תְּשׁוּבָה teshuvah. We are defining תְּשׁוּבָה teshuvah as ‘returning to the path I want to be on’, and we have so many ideas to share with each other.

A Few of Our Big Ideas about תְּשׁוּבָה

  • Different things you do require different amounts and types of תְּשׁוּבָה.
  • In general, leaders have a bigger responsibility to do תְּשׁוּבָה because their actions impact more people.
  • תְּשׁוּבָה is not just a way to get out of trouble. The point is to help the other person feel better.
  • Doing תְּשׁוּבָה is a cycle of being off the path and getting back on the path.
  • תְּשׁוּבָה is a process that allows someone to reflect and take action. The process of doing תְּשׁוּבָה helps you let go and move through the stuckness.

First, we are painting our backgrounds! Then, onto the foreground…

Children are also working on learning to decode Hebrew. One child is sounding out the letters and vowels, and the other is listening carefully and keeping track of where they are.

At the end of the day, we gather for שִׁירָה/תְּפִילָה Shirah/Tefillah (singing and prayer). We are ready to show off all the prayers we have been learning. These children are leading the community in בָּרְכוּ Barekh’u (the invitation of the evening prayer service)

Stay tuned for more ideas and questions about תְּשׁוּבָה teshuvah, and to see what else we’re up to!
