We wrapped up our final week of Torah exploration by writing like a sofer (scribe). Last week, when we opened up the Torah, we found all of the Hebrew letters inside. This week, we found out that the letters of a Torah are handwritten with a special tool.
Our older friends tried out writing with feathers. It was messy! Which end works better? The fluffy end or the pointy end?

Our younger friends painted their Torahs inside a bag, mushing the colors together with their etzba’ot (fingers) and also exploring the feel of smooth plastic in their mouths.

What a fabulous three-week exploration of Torah. Next up, (and can you even believe it?) Chanukah!
