תְּשׁוּבָה (Teshuvah) For Everyday Use

This week the שׁוֹרָשִׁים (Shorashim– ‘roots’ for nursery) and שְׁתִּילִים (Shteelim– ‘saplings’ for kindergarten) storytellers are at it again! They are creating incredible stories where תְּשׁוּבָה (Teshuvah– returning to the path you want to be on after making a mistake) takes place. These stories, are often based on real life (you might notice that both of these children created stories that take place on the playground).

We introduced a new story building tool to the children. All you need to do is walk up to this wall and pick out the cards with the elements of the story you wish to include. Then, bring the cards with you as a reminder to use as you create your story. This new format has been helping keep our building and drawings on track and the stories continue to grow in their complexity.

Choosing where the story takes place.
I was on the monkey bars and I fell off, I was feeling frustrated and I needed to calm down so I did square breathing and a lemon squeeze and then I was ready to play again.

Choosing the kinds of תְּשׁוּבָה (Teshuvah) to include in the story.

People were playing on the playground. There were three swings and five children wanted to go on the swings. They (the children) started getting on and there were no more swings. They (one of the children) saw someone crying and they gave him the swing. She gave him a hug and they played nicely.

It has been really exciting to see how the children understand תְּשׁוּבָה (Teshuvah– returning to the path you want to be on after making a mistake), and how the stories reflect their realties.
