שְׁמַע Shema Stories

What a week in Anafim v’Alonim (“Branches” for 3rd-4th grades and “Oak Trees” for 5th grade)!

We began the week listening and illustrating to שְׁמַע Shema Stories: of climbing a mountain turning to the שְׁמַע Shema for comfort, shouting across a lake with joy, and learning to love the שְׁמַע Shema by studying it.

These 5th graders laughed and laughed while thinking about saying the שְׁמַע Shema while riding on a donkey!

On Wednesday and Thursday, we turned to the early Rabbis for explanations about why the שְׁמַע Shema is different in the Siddur and in the Torah!

We built carefully and collaboratively…

And helped each other clean up at the end of the day!

We are so excited to laugh, play, and continue our שְׁמַע Shema explorations!
