What an exciting week in Anafim v’Alonim (“Branches” for 3rd-4th and “Oak Trees” for 5th), as the children dug into our text from Genesis 18. The children explored questions about Avraham’s future or legacy, rooted in the line, “Avraham will become a great and mighty nation… (18)” and shared ideas with each other about leadership, influence, and blessings given by God and by Avraham.
These children were so excited to work together on a puppet show. One child exclaimed, “It takes a lot of work to get this done!” When they performed their scene, the other children noticed hard work and celebrated the collaboration from so many children.
These Alonim’ers (“Oak Trees” for 5th) practiced sharing their ideas and listening to each other’s ideas and responses. Look how excited they are!
It is so exciting to hear the children share their ideas and continue asking questions about our text, and equally exciting to see how kindly the children listen to each other and how interested they are in each others work.
I can’t wait to see where their exploration leads us, and what questions they will ask next.
