Re-Enacting the Journey of a Jewish World-Traveler

The children in the School-Day Program spent two sequential Special Days last week exploring the journey of Benjamin of Tudela, the Jewish Spaniard who traveled for 14 years during the 1100s through three continents.

After listening to his stories and looking through pictures of what his destinations might have looked like, the children enthusiastically painted backdrops and rearranged furniture to create a video of the travels of Benjamin of Tudela.

The story included descriptions of what it could have been like to try to sleep in the lower decks of a wooden ship filled with other travelers and rats, or ride to Rome in a bumpy oxcart.

The children were proud of their production, and we hope you enjoy it too! Click here to check it out.
