This week in Beit Shorashim V’Shteelim (nursery and kindergarten) we have started playing some examples of the many things that the Torah says are Kadosh in ויקרא י״ט (Vayikra-Leviticus 19).
The Torah says so many things are kadosh (holy)!
Leaving the corners of your field for the poor…
“We should leave the food so they aren’t hungry, I like to do it so people have food.”
Celebrating Shabbat…
“To have people (for Shabbat) it’s a nice thing. (We would have) food like challah… special for shabbat.”
Honoring your parents, which we expressed in יצירה (yetzirah- creativity)…
Not putting something in a blind person’s way or tricking a blind person.
“I can help you go around!”
We also went into the Chapel and did an exploration of the Torah.
Children found letters from their own שם (shem-name).
We looked for ק.ד.ש, the three letters that are the root of our theme, קדושה (kedushah- holiness).
