This week in Beit Shorashim (“Roots” for nursery) and Shteelim (“Saplings” for kindergarten), we began learning and playing what is would be like for the Israelites to leave Egypt and to be במדבר (Bamidbar is the place in between your old home and your new home), based on שמות (Shemot-Exodus) 1-15, in the תורה (Torah).
After making sure we all understood the text we began to imagine what it would feel like for the Israelites to leave their homes go on a Journey with out knowing where they are going or how long they will be journeying for.
We also began to imagine what במדבר (Bamidbar- the place in between your old home and your new home) would look and feel like.
We created a large במדבר (Bamidbar) backdrop to use in our play!
After we imagined what the Israelites wore במדבר (Bamidbar -the place in between your old home and your new home) and what they brought with them, we also played במדבר (bamidbar) in front of the backdrop we created and around the room.
We could also choose to design, build and play inside of our own במדבר (Bamidbar- the place in between your old home and your new home).
Check back next week to find out where we will Journey next!
