This week in Shalom Chaverim was all about reflecting upon our year together. Together, we remembered the sights, sounds, smells and even tastes of our Jewish year.
We looked back on some of the symbols of Hanukkah as we built our own hanukkiyot, spun dreidels, and created Hanukkah paintings.
We looked back on Tu B’shebat by reading stories about trees, searching for trees in the sensory table, and even creating our own trees with paint and markers.
We looked back on Purim as well– there were costumes to try on and groggers to shake.
Revisiting some of these explorations from the Jewish year offers children a chance to remember and reflect upon the way we celebrated each holiday during the year.
