This has been an exciting week!
This week marks the first week of a venture into a brand new Theme at the Jewish Enrichment Center – יוסף (Yosef – Joseph). For Shorashim and Shteelim, that also means that our בית (Bayit – Home) was redesigned so that our learning environment has new exploration opportunities of all different kinds …
After המורה בן (HaMoreh Ben – Teacher Ben) read the first part of story of יוסף (Yosef – Joseph), his father יעקב (Yaakov – Jacob) and his אחים (Achim – brothers), Shorashim and Shteelim set out to explore the new classroom, that was teaming with the story all around.
We had a brand new and cozy פינת חלומות (Pinat Chalomot – Dream Corner), where we could play out Yosef’s dreams on big magnet boards..
We practiced writing the most important letters in the story so far – יוסף (Yosef – Joseph) , אח (Ach – Brother) , חלום (Chalom – Dream) , כוכב (Kochav – Star).
And found the same word in a pile of colourful rice!
We made different כוכבים (Kochavim – Stars) in different colours…
We even began reenacting the story of Yosef, with costumes…
It’s been an eventful week, a beginning of an adventure into the story of Yosef.
We’ll have to see what the second week brings along with it…
