The children in Shalom Chaverim are exploring the shapes, symbols, and signs of Hanukkah.
We are counting out candles for our hanukkiyot, and building our spoken vocabulary as we use words like “shamash” and “hanukkiyah.”
We are sharing special Hanukkah stories and songs with one another.
We are having the chance to explore and interact with real special objects, and in the process we are building our Jewish identities and understanding the world around us.
We wrapped up our morning together by creating special Hanukkah cookies, in shapes like dreidels and hanukkiyot. We are touching these shapes and learning the words for them… And sharing a happy Hanukkah moment with our friends.
