This week, we’ve gone back in time.
We started reviewing EVERY story from the Tanakh* we’ve explored in 4+ years at the Jewish Enrichment Center. Over 25 texts! And those are just the biblical texts! Don’t even get us started on how many rabbinic texts we’ve explored.
*Tanakh is a new acronym for us in Anafim. It stands for Torah, Nivi’im (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings). Tanakh includes all of the Jewish sacred books.
It was beautiful to see our children reviewing our texts. All around the room, all week, children read texts from the Tanakh out loud to each other. We remembered projects we did in previous years, and revisited characters we met long ago.
The truth is, we love stories so much, it’s hard to want to do everything else! These children couldn’t stop reading, even as they walked over to put their books on the shelf!
