This week in Shalom Chaverim was all about exploring the symbols on a Seder plate– and, for the 0-3 year old set, exploration means a lot of tasting. We tasted egg, parsley, and charoset– and a few brave children even tasted horseradish!
Children also had the opportunity to examine all the objects, and some created sketches. We sang songs about the Seder plate, read stories, and then set to work creating our own plates for the Seder table.
We are continuing to explore the symbols and objects on the Seder plate as we paint representations of them and seek to match the colors. Next week we will glue our paintings onto real plates!
