This past week in Shalom Chaverim was all about getting ready for Purim!
We created and explore costumes together, examined Purim images, and shared in Purim stories and songs.
Then, we set out to create and deliver mishloch manot together. We set to work mixing, measuring, stirring and baking.
Mishloch manot (or sharing in general!) can be a challenging idea for the toddler set. With that in mind, the children and families set off on a journey around the building to share hamantaschen and dried fruit.
Though it can be hard to share (sometimes really really hard!) in this exercise the children were able to observe the effect upon others of giving something important– something we worked hard to create together. And maybe that will make sharing a little easier the next time we do it.
Chag sameach!
