Nitzanim Makes Music

Yesterday, Nitzanimers expressed the יעקב (Ya’akov) story by making music. Children were divided into three groups to plan and arrange musical scores for each of the three parts of the story: 1) יעקב (Ya’akov) running away; 2) His dream of angels ascending and descending a ladder; and 3) יעקב (Ya’akov) pouring oil on a pillar. Each group chose their instruments and style with their part of the story in mind.

A first grader working on the first segment said that the music she created, “sounds like running away.”

A second grader working on the dream segment described the sound of his segment as “[angels] stomping up the ladder and stomping down.”

Finally, when a second grader was asked about his group’s choice for the third segment, he said that he used his instrument “so it would sound like oil dripping.”
