Making Our Mark in Beit Nitzanim

Nitzanim had a lot of new things to celebrate on our first day at the Jewish Enrichment Center—a new year, new חברים (chaverim—friends), and a HUGE new space. While our new Beit Nitzanim is not quite open yet, we’re busy thinking of ways to make the space comfortable, safe, and inviting. Today we worked on our “All About Me” binders and self-portraits as a way to start learning about each other and marking the space with our Nitzanim presence.

In addition, the מורות (morot—teachers) challenged Nitzanimers to think about what they want to create for Beit Nitzanim so that we all feel a sense of belonging in our new בית (bayit—home). One Nitzanimer responded that he would like to make his שם (shem—name) in 3-D. Another Nitzanimer suggested that he would like to create his entire גוף (goof—body) on the walls of Beit Nitzanim. A third חבר (chaver—friend) wanted to make sure that מורות (morot—teachers) posted photographs of him on the walls. Wow! We feel so energized by Nitzanimers’ creativity and desire to make the space their own. We cannot wait to begin brainstorming ways to incorporate these ideas into our theme work in the coming weeks.
