This week in Nitzanim we’ve been working on getting to know the story of Rivkah in Genesis 24 even better!
As one big group, we took turns telling the story together! Twelve different Nitzanimers contributed to retelling (each line is a different child speaking).
“Sara died, and Avraham mourned her. Avraham asked his servant to go to the place where he came from and get a wife for Yitzchak.
Avraham’s servant got ten camels and then he went to the well. The well was at the place where he came from.
He prays to the God for a sign.
Then Rivkah came to the well and gave the camels water. But first she gave the servant water.
The servant asks “Who’s daughter are you?”
Rivkah is beautiful.
And Rivkah got jewels. Two bracelets and one nose ring.
Rivkah tells the servant to come to come to dinner.
Rivkah to tell her mother what happened.
Lavan ran out to tell the servant “Why are you standing there? Come inside!”
The servant refuses to eat until he tells his story.
Lavan says they have to stay 10 days. And he [the servant] says “I can’t wait!”
They go to Rivkah to see if she will go with them.
She says sure.
When she sees Yitzhak she puts on a veil.
And Yitzhak was comforted after his mother’s death by Rivkah.”
We’re so excited to keep exploring this story with Nitzanim and see the exciting things they will do with it next!
