Yes, Shorashim children made a classic sukkah decoration: paper chains!
Paper chains are wonderful practice for our cutting, gluing, and spatial reasoning skills. (Think about how a child has to remember to put the flat strip of paper through an existing loop, and then, in order to glue the new loop shut, has to flip one of the flat ends so the paper lies flat. And then a child has to remember to press the ends of the paper together so the glue will work. It sounds so complicated when I write it out!)
Also, we had some terrific discussions about Sukkot and sukkah decorations while we worked.
And we were so proud of our chains!
