In celebration of Tu Bishvat, the Jewish birthday of the trees, the Shorashimers used handprints to make great big trees. With the help of Morah Naomi, the shorashimers saw how a circle of yarok (green) handprints can become the leaves of a tree. On the way back to Beit Shorashim we discussed the gifts trees share with us. The Shorashimers said: shade, apples, a place to climb, a place to picnic and something nice to look at. We wrapped up our Tree Birthday celebration by noticing trees outside through the window in Beit Shorashim and doing our very own growing tree dance.
