Tu B’Shevat in Nitzanim

Sure, we planted parsley seeds. We’ll dip our parsley in salt water at Passover to remind us of the Israelites’ tears. But Tu B’Shevat also inspired us to bring winter and spring into Beit Nitzanim.

For winter, we made paper snowflakes, then silkscreened them onto fabric. We’ll hang the snowflakes in our winter corner, where we find a chanukiyah.

For spring, we got ready to plant flowers and vegetables. To decorate our pots, we decoupaged the background. We made watercolor and pencil drawings of flowers in Israel to glue on top of the decoupaged background.

Now we’ll have reminders throughout the year of how we celebrated Tu B’Shevat!
