Leviticus 19 for 1st-6th Grades

 

Leviticus 19 וַיִּקְרָא י״ט
1) Adonai said to Moshe, א)  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר
2) “Say to all of the group of the Israelites, ‘Be holy [קְדֹשִׁים תִּהְיוּ]; for I, Adonai your God, am holy.’ ב)  דַּבֵּר אֶל-כָּל-עֲדַת בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם–קְדֹשִׁים תִּהְיוּ:  כִּי קָדוֹשׁ, אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם
3) Every one of you must respect your mother and your father,

and you shall keep my Shabbats: I am Adonai your God.

ג)  אִישׁ אִמּוֹ וְאָבִיו תִּירָאוּ, וְאֶת-שַׁבְּתֹתַי תִּשְׁמֹרוּ:  אֲנִי, יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם
4) Do not turn to idols…
5) “When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord, offer it so that you may be accepted. 6) Eat it the same day you offer it, or on the next day; and anything left over until the third day, burn it up with fire. 7) If you eat it on the third day, it is פִּגּוּל and it will not be accepted…
…ד)  אַל-תִּפְנוּ, אֶל-הָאֱלִילִם
ה)  וְכִי תִזְבְּחוּ זֶבַח שְׁלָמִים, לַיהוָה–לִרְצֹנְכֶם, תִּזְבָּחֻהוּ

ו)  בְּיוֹם זִבְחֲכֶם יֵאָכֵל, וּמִמָּחֳרָת; וְהַנּוֹתָר עַד-יוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי, בָּאֵשׁ יִשָּׂרֵף

ז)  וְאִם הֵאָכֹל יֵאָכֵל, בַּיּוֹם .הַשְּׁלִישִׁי—פִּגּוּל הוּא, לֹא יֵרָצֶה

9) “When you harvest your crops, do not reap the corners of your field, and do not pick up wheat that fell on the ground when you harvested. 10) And in your vineyard – do not take every last piece of fruit from the vines, and do not pick up the grapes that fall to the ground. Leave them for the poor and for people traveling through, for I am Adonai your God. ט)  וּבְקֻצְרְכֶם אֶת-קְצִיר אַרְצְכֶם, לֹא תְכַלֶּה פְּאַת שָׂדְךָ לִקְצֹר; וְלֶקֶט קְצִירְךָ, לֹא תְלַקֵּט

י)  וְכַרְמְךָ לֹא תְעוֹלֵל, וּפֶרֶט כַּרְמְךָ לֹא תְלַקֵּט:  לֶעָנִי וְלַגֵּר תַּעֲזֹב אֹתָם, אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם

11) “Do not steal, or cheat, or lie to one another.

12) Do not swear to a lie, because it brings dishonor to the name of your God: I am Adonai.

יא)  לֹא, תִּגְנֹבוּ; וְלֹא-תְכַחֲשׁוּ וְלֹא-תְשַׁקְּרוּ, אִישׁ בַּעֲמִיתוֹ

יב)  וְלֹא-תִשָּׁבְעוּ בִשְׁמִי, לַשָּׁקֶר:  וְחִלַּלְתָּ אֶת-שֵׁם אֱלֹהֶיךָ, אֲנִי יְהוָה

13) Do not be mean to people, and do not steal.

Pay your workers right away. Do not even keep their payment overnight.

14) Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but fear your God: I am Adonai.

יג)  לֹא-תַעֲשֹׁק אֶת-רֵעֲךָ, וְלֹא תִגְזֹל; לֹא-תָלִין פְּעֻלַּת שָׂכִיר, אִתְּךָ—עַד-בֹּקֶר

יד)  לֹא-תְקַלֵּל חֵרֵשׁ–וְלִפְנֵי עִוֵּר, לֹא תִתֵּן מִכְשֹׁל; וְיָרֵאתָ מֵּאֱלֹהֶיךָ, אֲנִי יְהוָה

15) Do not give an unfair judgment; do not show extra kindness to the poor or honor to the rich, but judge everyone with justice.

16) Do not spread gossip among your people, and do not stand by when someone’s life is in danger: I am Adonai.

טו)  לֹא-תַעֲשׂוּ עָוֶל, בַּמִּשְׁפָּט–לֹא-תִשָּׂא פְנֵי-דָל, וְלֹא תֶהְדַּר פְּנֵי גָדוֹל:  בְּצֶדֶק, תִּשְׁפֹּט עֲמִיתֶךָ

טז)  לֹא-תֵלֵךְ רָכִיל בְּעַמֶּיךָ, לֹא תַעֲמֹד עַל-דַּם רֵעֶךָ:  אֲנִי, יְהוָה

17) Do not hate your brother or sister in your heart…
18) Do not take revenge or bear a grudge against your people, but love all people as yourself: I am Adonai.
יז)  לֹא-תִשְׂנָא אֶת-אָחִיךָ, בִּלְבָבֶךָ; הוֹכֵחַ תּוֹכִיחַ אֶת-עֲמִיתֶךָ, וְלֹא-תִשָּׂא עָלָיו חֵטְא

יח)  לֹא-תִקֹּם וְלֹא-תִטֹּר אֶת-בְּנֵי עַמֶּךָ, וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָ:  אֲנִי, יְהוָה

32) Stand up before the elderly, and show honor to the aged, and fear your God: I am Adonai. לב)  מִפְּנֵי שֵׂיבָה תָּקוּם, וְהָדַרְתָּ פְּנֵי זָקֵן; וְיָרֵאתָ מֵּאֱלֹהֶיךָ, אֲנִי יְהוָה
33) When someone from another land lives with you in your land, do not make things hard for him.

34) The person from another land who lives with you should be like someone who was born among you. Love them like you love yourself; for you were people from another land living in the land of Egypt: I am Adonai your God.

לג)  וְכִי-יָגוּר אִתְּךָ גֵּר, בְּאַרְצְכֶם–לֹא תוֹנוּ, אֹתוֹ

לד)  כְּאֶזְרָח מִכֶּם יִהְיֶה לָכֶם הַגֵּר הַגָּר אִתְּכֶם, וְאָהַבְתָּ לוֹ כָּמוֹךָ–כִּי-גֵרִים הֱיִיתֶם, בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם:  אֲנִי, יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם

35) Do not give an unfair judgment when measuring with lengths, weights, and volume. 36) Use honest balances, honest weights … I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. לה)  לֹא-תַעֲשׂוּ עָוֶל, בַּמִּשְׁפָּט, בַּמִּדָּה, בַּמִּשְׁקָל וּבַמְּשׂוּרָה

לו)  מֹאזְנֵי צֶדֶק אַבְנֵי-צֶדֶק, אֵיפַת צֶדֶק וְהִין צֶדֶק–יִהְיֶה לָכֶם:  אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, אֲשֶׁר-הוֹצֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם
